Standing Rib Roast

Standing Rib Roast aka Prime Rib

A Standing Rib Roast is a cut of beef from the “primal rib” section, of which there are nine. Margie made this one off-bone, cooked it to perfection the night before, and then this was our dinner the following day!

Isn’t that just the most beautiful stack of steaks that a person could ever ask for? They were perfectly pink in the middle, so a quick grazing in the pan was enough to bring them to anyone’s perfect taste, and to melt those delicious strips of fat that run through it!

Next steps: Steak & Eggs for Breakfast!

Allow meat to come to room temperature.  (About four hours) Salt, pepper and garlic.

Preheat oven to 500.

Roast at 500 degrees for five minutes per pound.  (Example 6lb roast, 30 minutes)

Do not open oven!!  Turn oven off and leave door closed for 2 hours.

Slice and enjoy.
